A CA Studio Teacher must hold dual California certifications in Multiple Subject K-12 and California Single Subject in English, Math, Science, Social Science, or a Foreign Language. A CA Studio Teacher is also trained as a child welfare worker. The Studio Teacher certification is issued by the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement in California and is valid for three years. CA Studio Teachers are responsible for the education of minors on-set as well as for the welfare of minors. CA Studio Teachers are also responsible for ensuring that each child actor has a current CA work permit. They also ensure that the minor receives an appropriate meal and rest breaks.
